Penn State University | Men’s Wrestling Locker Room

R2I teamed up with Gannett Fleming to come up with a modern design for the Men’s Wrestling Locker Room at Penn State University. R2A provided interior design services including the replacement and upgrades of carpet, wall finishes, 40 new lockers, and a new ceiling.
The Design Approach for the Penn State Wrestling Room locker room is inspired by the legacy of Coach Bill Koll and the dedication of past, present, and future Penn State student athletes. Former Penn State Wrestler, NCAA champion and Penn State coach John Fritz described legendary Coach Koll as intense and competitive, as well as a well-rounded and intelligent person. Coach Koll lived a balanced life. The design inspiration and ideas for the locker room balance the program’s call for an exciting modern design that is bold and inspiring to the student athletes and that is reflective of the spirit of Penn State Wrestling’s past and future champions.
The locker rooms are located at the Lorenzo Wrestling Complex which ranks among the nation’s finest facilities in the sport. The Nittany Lion wrestlers, who are ranked No. 2 in the nation, will begin using their new facility for the 2022-2023 season.
