Ronald McDonald House | Southern New Jersey

Camden, NJ

Principal, John P. Ruiz, designed the 26,000 sf 4 story ground-up brick and steel mid-rise building that resides on the Cooper University Health (CUH) campus in Camden , New Jersey 20 years ago. The RMHSNJ is a home away from home for children seeking specialized medical care where their family can stay with them during their stay while seeking medical treatment.

Over the past 20 years the house has grown to about 35,000 sf. The house boasts a roster of patient guests that come from all over the world to seek care at CUH. The house shelters and feeds about 100 meals per day 7 days a week. The house is designed as a warm inviting home that is durable and functional.

In tandem with the Houses 35th anniversary of its founding, R2A and its MBE Certified affiliated R2I was retained to design the $1M renovations to all the public areas of the building totaling about 20,000 sf. The house now has a fresh updated look, new furnishings, better space and flow to accommodate the ever-growing population that utilizes the House’s facilities. R2A/R2I are a proud supporters of the Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey.
